When you think about southern fare, the word “healthy” isn’t exactly rolling off your tongue. Instead, thoughts of mouthwatering biscuits and greasy bacon will probably pop into your head. But now, you can eat lighter versions of traditional southern classics all thanks to Carolyn O’Neil. In her new book The Slim Down South Cookbook: Eating well and living healthy in the land of biscuits and bacon she lightens up southern classics that are just as satisfying.

About The Book
The Slim Down South Cookbook instills the fact that deprivation doesn’t work long-term. By taking it one day at a time, Carolyn offers tips on how to navigate through sticky situations and avoid overindulging so you can maintain a healthy lifestyle. With over 100 delicious recipes, there are plenty of southern options your whole family will enjoy! Carolyn also stresses the importance of enjoying and cherishing meals with the ones you love – this is an important concept which I always stress.

Carolyn was kind enough to share a delicious recipe from her new cookbook. I hope you enjoy!
