In honor of National Nutrition Month (that’s March!), I asked 31 nutrition experts from around the country their top healthy eating tip. Each day throughout the month of March, you will find a new tip posted, giving you a different perspective and idea on how to eat more healthfully. First up is Angela Lemond, RDN, CSP, LD!

 

Focus on the Positive

My best tip overall is to focus on foods you should eat and not so much on what foods you should avoid. It sounds so obvious, but so many people miss this technique. Make a point to get at least 3 colors on your plate for each meal. Color variety has a tendency to vary the nutrients you are eating. Shop seasonally, and try new recipes regularly! Taste preference change as we age, so trust that process
