Smoothies are no longer just a once and awhile treat, but an everyday indulgence. Jenna Helwig’s new book, Smoothie-Licious: Power Packed Smoothies and Juices the Whole Family Will Love, includes fun, colorful, and nutrient packed smoothie and juice recipes the whole family will enjoy. Find out a little why smoothies make a great everyday food and check out a delicious smoothie recipe from the book.

About the Book
Packed full of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, smoothies are healthy and easy to pack and sip anywhere. Most of these smoothies are bursting with fruits and vegetables and don’t need much added sugar, if any. A number of recipes include superfoods like chia seeds, oats, and flax seeds. Smoothies are also a kid favorite and an easy way for them to take in their daily recommended servings of fruits and veggies.

The book includes 75 smoothie and juice recipes categorized into fruit, vegetable, superfood smoothies, whole food juices, and desserts. The recipes are easy to prepare, making them perfect to help strengthen kids food prepping skills. Many of these recipes are also gluten free, vegan, and contain more than 15% of the recommended daily value of nutrients like calcium, potassium, and vitamins C and A. Each recipe specifies which of these health benefits it includes and has complete nutrition facts listed.

One of the remarkable additions to Smoothie-Licious is Helwig’s description of “the smoothie anatomy”. She provides a full-proof formula, which if followed will make every smoothie work.

Jenna was kind enough to share a recipe from her new book.
