Ingredients
Meatballs
1 lb (500 g) lean ground pork
3 green onions, white and green parts, chopped
1 carrot, peeled and grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp (30 mL) reduced-sodium soy sauce
¼ tsp (1 mL) ground ginger
2 tbsp (30 mL) olive oil or canola oil
Sauce
1 tbsp (15 mL) sesame oil
1 tbsp (15 mL) unseasoned rice vinegar
2 tsp (10 mL) cornstarch
1 tsp (5 mL) garlic powder
Instructions
To Make The Meatballs:
In a medium bowl, add the pork, green onions, carrot, garlic, soy sauce and ground ginger. Using clean hands, mix until combined.
Roll 1 tbsp (15 mL) of the pork mixture into a 2-inch (5 cm) ball. Place on a large plate and repeat with the remaining pork mixture to make about 16 meatballs. Loosely cover the plate and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes and up to 3 hours.
