Ingredients
- ½ cup unsweetened coconut milk, divided
- 2 teaspoons almond butter
- 1 teaspoon honey
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ⅛ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground turmeric
- Pinch of ground black pepper
- ½ cup unsweetened almond milk
Instructions
- Place ¼ cup of the coconut milk in a small saucepan and warm over low heat.
- Whisk in the almond butter, honey, ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, turmeric, and black pepper until combined. Increase the heat to medium and slowly whisk in the remaining ¼ cup coconut milk and all the almond milk. Continue cooking, whisking occasionally, for 3 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Pour up to 2 shots into a small mug or heatproof glass and serve warm.
- To store, cool, then pour into an airtight container, cover, and place in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Alternatively, pour shots into ice cube trays, cover or store in a freezer bag, and freeze for up to 2 months. Always label and date your tonics.
- To reheat, defrost if necessary, then pour into a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally. Remove pan from the heat and allow tonic to cool slightly. Pour into a small mug or heatproof glass and serve.
